The year’s efforts were prominently displayed during the holy month of Ramadan, HMH managed properties launched a series of heartfelt community programmes, including ‘The Little Star Iftar’ for orphaned children in Sharjah and a special iftar for families of determination in Ajman. In a significant logistical effort, teams across Ajman and Dubai distributed hundreds of iftar meals and food boxes to underprivileged families, strengthening strategic partnerships with local charities and authorities.
A cornerstone of HMH’s sustainability drive has been the landmark installation of atmospheric water generators at Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel. This pioneering move makes it the first property in the Northern Emirates to eliminate all single-use plastic water bottles, producing 365,000 litres of drinking water annually from air humidity. This initiative alone cuts 33.58 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions and removes 730,000 plastic bottles from waste streams each year.
Complementing this, the partnership with Dr. Linen Sustainable Ventures has seen over a tonne of textile waste diverted from landfill. Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel and Coral Beach Resort Sharjah have repurposed 1,300kg and 700kg of linens respectively, transforming end-of-life materials into new sustainable products.
The group’s ethos extends to its most valuable asset, its people. Comprehensive Medical Days and enlightening Mental & Emotional Awareness Sessions have been implemented to support employee wellbeing. Furthermore, HMH managed hotels have actively engaged in fostering future talent through career fairs and supported community health with successful blood donation campaigns. A commitment to the environment was also actioned by teams from Coral Dubai Deira Hotel and ECOS Dubai Hotel at Al Furjan, who participated in a beach clean-up at the ecologically sensitive Ras Al Khoor Wetland.
